Dr. Julie's Response
Bishop Bland is an amazing woman who is sincerely devoted to providing precious resources to our underserved Jersey City community. She not only provides fresh food, clothing and diapers but educational outreach in disease prevention, nutrition and pantry building, family support and guidance and access to employment opportunities in a faith based, compassionate environment. She features important role models to inspire and mentor the young, and recreational events to encourage and expand social and cultural connections. I was so grateful to be invited to my childhood neighborhood and saw so many beautiful people who were cared for by my Dad and brother John, my Steve and me across generations. A real highlight in my life. It was a education indeed for all of us.
